Cocktails with Herbs: Get into the Summer Mood!


Summer is here and you cannot enjoy it without plenty of colorful and refreshing cocktails.  Cocktails refresh and revitalize us, so we can fully enjoy summer. You can try different cocktails at a bar, or make your favorite-ones at home, where you can actually practice your own special ideas. FYSIS suggests to add herbs in your cocktails, as they can greatly enhance their taste and flavor, and at the same time add to the healthy side of your drink. Lemon Verbena Gimlet Cocktail

This amazing cocktail will make you feel like you have tasted a drink made in heaven. Its taste is a perfect fusion of Lemon Verbena and dry gin. The tartness of lime juice and the herbal freshness of Lemon Verbena both make this cocktail taste light, refreshing, and festive. Lemon Verbena Gimlet Cocktail is a must-try for this summer.


Lemon Verbena Gimlet Herb Cocktail Recipes

Lemon Verbena Gimlet Cocktail


  • 1/4 cup FYSIS lemon verbena leaves
  • 3/4 cup dry gin
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup club soda, chilled
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Lime slices (optional)


In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water with the sugar. Rub the Lemon Verbena leaves to bruise and add to the pan. Let the sugar mixture to boil, while gently stirring as needed to dissolve sugar. Cook for about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and let it get cool. Using a sieve over a bowl, strain the mixture and throw away the solids. Combine sugar mixture, gin, soda, and juice. Serve over ice and garnish with lime slices, if desired.

Hint: If you are a “vodka lover”, substitute the dry gin with the same amount of vodka.


Honey Sage Gin Fizz

Honey Sage Gin Fizz is a very popular drink with a unique taste. It is considered as one of the most special cocktails due to its intense Sage flavor. In addition, It is healthy (low in sugar and with no nasty chemicals), refreshing, and guilt-free. The Sage leaves are muddled and their flavor is enhanced by the most important ingredient: Gin!



For the Cocktail For homemade honey sage syrup
  • 85g gin
  • 2 tbps. honey sage syrup (see instructions below)
  • 2 tbsp. lime juice
  • 3/4 cup club soda
  • FYSIS sage leaves, for garnish
  • 6 FYSIS sage leaves
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water

Honey Sage Gin Fizz

To make Homemade Healthy Simple Syrup, combine honey, water, and FYSIS sage leaves in a medium-sized saucepan and boil over medium-high heat. Turn down the heat to low and let the honey get completely dissolved by constantly stirring, for about 1 minute. Get the pan off the heat, and let it cool for about 30 minutes.

When it’s ready, combine gin, simple syrup, lime juice, and club soda. Serve chilled and garnish with extra FYSIS sage leaves.
